Italian businessmen willing to invest in construction materials

Italian businessmen are willing to invest in producing construction materials in Moldova. The perspective of implementing projects involving Italian capital has been discussed in a meeting between President Vladimir Voronin and a delegation of Italian businessmen. Head of the Italian Federation of construction materials producers Rossella Rodelli Giavarini mentioned that several companies with rich experience from the organisation she represents are willing to share their knowledge with the Moldovan partners concerning the production of ecologic construction materials, on the basis of modern technologies. The head of state welcomed the intention of Italian businessmen to realise investment projects in the domain, together with their local partners, involving the most modern procedures. Development of industrial production, based on innovations, which are harmless to the environment, and would also provide a solid social protection system to employees, is a priority of the national economy, Voronin stated. The president’s argument for the interest of Moldovan authorities for the extension of construction materials production was that that the amount of construction works on the country’s territory marks a constant growth. In 2006, the value of the works operated at construction- assembling enterprises exceeded by 20%, in comparable prices, the respective value of 2005.
