The Government of Israel decided to open an embassy in Chisinau, as the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Saar announced. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova welcomed this initiative, stressing the importance of the moment in strengthening the bilateral relations, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry, the Israeli embassy in the capital of the Republic of Moldova is expected to be opened in 2025 and represents an important step for intensifying political dialogue, developing economic and trade relations, as well as supporting the Moldovan and Israeli communities.
Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi said that the Republic of Moldova reaffirms its commitment to support this approach and that the opening of the embassy will significantly contribute to the expansion of bilateral cooperation.
"The relations between our countries are based on friendship, common values and strategic interests. I am convinced that this step will further strengthen the Moldovan-Israeli partnership," noted Mihai Popșoi.
The Moldovan authorities believe that the opening of a permanent diplomatic mission of Israel will bring mutual benefits and provide new opportunities for the development of political and economic relations between the two states.
