Moldova’s Irina Rîngaci won the Under 23 European Wrestling Championship in the 65 kg category, after defeating Ekaterina Koshkina (individual neutral athlete) 11-3. In Baku, Irina also defeated Italy’s Laura Godino and Turkey’s Nesrin Bas.
In 55 kg, Mihaela Samoil won the bronze medal. In the fight for the podium, she bested Turkey’s Tuba Demir.
Another wrestler from Moldova, Luciana Beda, placed 5th after losing in the bronze medal match to Hungary’s Karolina Pok.
In men’s, Radu Lefter (97 kg) will fight in the final today against Soslan Dzhagaev (individual neutral athlete).
