In the case of Buiucani accident the head of the Chisinau Electric Transport Authority, Dorin Ciornîi, said that, according to the trolleybus driver, he had stopped at the red light. After the green light was on, the trolleybus started to circulate, when the driver felt a strong blow from the right, the trolleybus being projected onto the sidewalk. Dorin Ciornii also says that there were no people on the sidewalk and that all the people who had suffered were from the trolleybus and the car. The driver of the trolleybus suffered no injuries. The conductor and 18 passengers were transported to the hospital. According to the updated information following the accident a man died, the passenger from the car, while the 33-year-old woman, who was behind the wheel, is in serious condition, in the intensive care unit. In all 24 people, including a minor, needed medical care.

The fifth edition of the "Chisinau International Marathon", held on Sunday in the capital, gathered thousands of participants. Eight long-term observers and a five team core members of the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) will monitor the October 20 local elections in Chisinau, without monitoring the concurrent snap parliamentary elections in four constituencies. “ENEMO operates in full compliance with international standards for election observation. We will deploy our observers in order to contribute towards a more transparent electoral process in Moldova. All ENEMO observers have signed the Code of Conduct for International Election Observers,” stated the head of the Mission Dritan Taulla.
