Last century's collective tragedies, such as the gulags, concentration camps, the Holocaust, deportations and collective hunger, must never be repeated again. In the speech delivered at the commemoration event for victims of all totalitarian and authoritarian regimes, Prime Minister Maia Sandu stated that all these regimes should be treated equally, as anti-human regimes. After the flag of the Republic of Moldova was put at half-mast and those present at the event on the Great National Assembly Square observed a moment of silence, the prime minister held a speech for those present. In her speech, she said that "Nazism, Stalinism, fascist and communist regimes have sowed hatred and used people to achieve the sordid goals of their fanatical leaders".

The concert that is organized by President Igor Dodon in the Great National Assembly Square, marking "75 years since the liberation of Moldova from fascism" is meant to divide the society. Prime Minister Maia Sandu expressed this opinion in front of journalists present at the Commemoration Day for victims of all totalitarian and authoritarian regimes event. "I think it divides and deepens the differences in society. The Socialist Party has decided to go further", said Maia Sandu. The prime minister added that Moldova's citizens and leadership must engage in behaviour that unites society, instead of dividing it.

Valentin Dolganiuc, first Parliament MP says, "history repeated itself as a  hoax and the Russian empire returned to Moldova by committing its first criminal act - the Dniester war, initiated by Russia in 1992". According to the first Parliament MP, "the fifth column of the Russian empire and their tools were set in motion and managed to torpedo the return of Bessarabia to the "national space of coming into being" (re-unification with Romania), as specified in the declaration of independence". "Moreover, it was possible to stop the Euro-Atlantic integration process and to keep Moldova in Moscow's orbit", said Valentin Dolganiuc.

In the opinion of the journalist and politician Alecu Renita, first Parliament MP, "you cannot talk about the first Parliament without mentioning henchmen and pro-Russian MPs." "The truth is that they were part of the first Parliament, although they never represented the aspirations of Romanian Bessarabia." "It would be stupid to let them sink into oblivion. They are alive, and their seed has not disappeared. They have been present in key positions and in all governments since independence”, Alecu Reniţă says. Alecu Reniţă regrets that, for three decades, no scientific monograph or study appeared on the role and contribution of the first Parliament to the de-comunistization of Soviet Moldova and to national revival. Instead, the former deputy says, dirty attacks have become the norm for the post-independence governments of treating the first extraordinary Parliament MPs..

"On August 27, 1991, what was expected at the Great National Assembly in 1989 was practically achieved. The Popular Front which I led had also other objectives, such as denouncing the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact," Ion Hadârcă, one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence and Popular Front leader, said. The former MP specified that the atmosphere in the Parliament, but also in the PMAN was a special, festive one, everyone came and expressed his opinion through the microphone. There were also MPs who opposed the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Ion Hadârcă also mentioned that at the meeting of August 27, 1991, the Romanian language was voted as state language and that the anthem adopted was “Desteapta-te romane”/"Wake up Romanian".

An aircraft of "Air Moldova" company, with 140 passengers on board, and a small aircraft were close to an air collision on June 23. According to Eugen Sajin, an employee of MoldAtsa, the incident was not revealed by MoldAtsa and Civil Aviation Authority representatives.”The passenger aircraft passed below AN2 at a distance of 10-15 meters. Thus, the trajectories of the two planes intersected”, reports an anonymous source for TV8.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry for the analysis of organizing and conducting the privatization and concession of public property during 2013-2019, Igor Munteanu,  stated that the takeover of Avia Invest assets, a company in charge of airport management, by any foreign financial group could not take place if it affected state interests. "The latest actions taken by Şor group and company create new aggravating circumstances and risks for operating the airport, which raises doubts about the good faith of businessmen behind this transaction," Igor Munteanu specified. Igor Munteanu reiterated that on August 12 he notified the General Prosecutor's Office and the National Anticorruption Center about possible illicit actions at the time of concession of the Chisinau International Airport, but in the meantime no one reacted. According to the deputy, measures that were required to be taken following the notification included the seizure of the concessional property granted in 2013.

The Chisinau International Airport concession contract must be terminated, while management rights must be returned to the state. The termination is possible because of reasonable suspicion that the interests of state have been harmed. Moreover, there is reasonable suspicion that some of the money invested in the airport comes from the bank fraud. The statements were made by President Igor Dodon after the Supreme Security Council meeting.

Several representatives of Moldovan civil aviation believe that the situation in the field requires a restructuring, including by eliminating legal gaps.   Alexei Rogov, chair of "Global Aviation Forum" public association says that there are gaps in the national legislation where the civil aviation is concerned and opening a branch of the World Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) would be a revolutionary step in acquiring the experience of other countries that have advanced in the field of civil aviation. Also, in the Republic of Moldova an aviation hub could be created, based on the latest global technologies in the field of international civil aviation.

Igor Fraihman, a close friend of Iurie Luncasu’s family, maintains that Iurii Luncașu (who passed away on August 17 following a gunshot wound), for over 20 years had suffered from multiple sclerosis, a neurological condition. According to him, there was no professional or financial pressure, which could have led to these tragic consequences."We consider that the pressure from certain media to which he was subjected, the innuendos appeared in the media and in the public space have greatly impacted his emotional state. We are ready to work with law enforcement bodies to ensure a fully transparent process. We cannot give a legal qualification to what happened, but we cannot exclude, considering also his psycho-emotional state of the last period and his worsening medical condition, the fact that he was driven to suicide”, Igor Fraihman declared.

Musical fountain in Valea Trandafirilor park will be inaugurated on Sunday, August 25, at 20.00. People will be able to walk around the water jets, accompanied by music and decorative lighting.
