June 1: The Chisinau City Hall and the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center have launched the second edition of the Open Air Film Festival. The event starts on June 1 and will run throughout the summer, every Friday and weekend, in three districts of Chisinau.

June 3: The first stage of enrollment in the first grade has ended. From April 1 to May 24, over 9,000 applications were submitted through the platform escoala.chisinau.md. The results are communicated until June 3 inclusive. In the 387 classes of primary and secondary education institutions of the capital city, it is planned to enroll 10,400 children. The enrollment rate at this moment is 86.86%.

June 3: Champions Dan Olaru (archery) and Anna Dulce (shooting), who qualified for the Paris Olympics, will be present at the Chisinau Sports Festival 2024, which will take place on June 8 in “La Izvor” Park in the capital city. “We invite you with great enthusiasm to participate in the Chisinau Sports Festival 2024, a unique event that brings together the passion for sports and performance! You will have the opportunity to meet exceptional athletes who qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. June 4: Young people aged between 14 and 35 can participate in the Summer at the Center Program. Every day, from Tuesday to Saturday, young people will meet at youth centers in Chisinau to take part in various activities. According to a press release of the Chisinau Municipal Youth Center, the initiative comes to provide young people with a friendly and stimulating environment in which they can spend their free time in a constructive and pleasant way.

June 4: The second edition of the Chisinau Sports Festival will take place on June 8 in “La Izvor” Park of the capital city. After a program of sports activities, the festival will culminate with a concert by the band “Zdob si Zdub”. “The band that conquered the hearts of thousands of fans around the world will take the stage to turn this festival into an unforgettable show,” said the Chisinau City Hall and the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports, which are the organizers of the event.

June 6: The activities and locations of the Chisinau Sport Festival 2024, which will take place on June 8, are available on an interactive map. The General Division of Education, Youth and Sports said that the map will guide step by step to all the points of interest, facilitating access to sports events, stands and areas of activities intended for all ages.

June 7: Children will have the opportunity to choose a profession in the City of Professions that will be set up in “La Izvor” Park in Chisinau. The event will take place on June 8, between 12 noon and 04:00 p.m. Each child will receive a participation permit and will later be able to “get employed” at one of the over150 professions presented at the event.

June 8: Residents and visitors of the capital city on Saturday can have their pigmented nevi (moles) tested for free with the help of a dermatoscope and have consultations with dermatologists as part of a national campaign entitled “Be safe in the sun”. The campaign will last throughout the summer season.

June 8: The second edition of the Chisinau Sports Festival takes place today in “La Izvor” Park in the capital city. Visitors are expected to attend valuable masterclasses presented by athletes from 17 sports schools and high schools and over 70 sports federations, associations and clubs. The festival will involve world champions who will represent the country this year at the Paris Olympic Games and will share their experiences and skills.

June 8: The Moldovan movie “Carbon” will be screened on June 8 in Chisinau’s Alunelul Park, marking the opening of the second Seri de Cronograf outdoor film festival. Every Saturday, starting June 8, motivational, educational films, comedies and dramas will be shown in Alunelul Park. The screenings will take place between 20:00 and 22:00.

June 8: Thousands of athletes and enthusiasts have come together for the 2024 Chisinau Sports Festival, taking place Saturday at La Izvor Park. Andrei Pavaloi, deputy head of the municipal Education Directorate, noted that allocations for sports have increased from 5 million lei to 20 million lei annually. “Today we are proud of you, we are proud of those who bring medals from abroad and spread the fame of both Chisinau and the whole country abroad”, said Pavaloi during the inauguration ceremony.

The intense gusts uprooted many trees, causing considerable damage to cars, fences and roofs. All the responsible services reacted promptly, intervening at over 300 addresses to deal with the consequences of the weather in a manual or mechanized way. Pedestrian alleys, sidewalks and streets on which public transport runs were cleared as a priority.

June 15: The draft decision on the approval of the budget of the municipality of Chisinau for 2024 is to be discussed at public consultations. The most recent debate involved members of the Council for the Development of the Tourist Identity of the Chisinau Municipality, the National Inbound and Domestic Tourism Association (ANTRIM), the Association of Investors of Romania in the Republic of Moldova. A new round of public consultations is scheduled for Monday, June 17.

June 21: The section of Mircea cel Bătrân Boulevard between the streets P. Zadnipru and Prof. Ion Dumeniuc will be partially closed to vehicle traffic, by lanes, until July 11. The Chisinau City Hall said the measure was taken in connection with the need to carry out works to place thin, bituminous Slurry Seal layers on the roadway.

June 24: As many as 8,685 children were enrolled in the first grade of educational institutions in the municipality of Chisinau for the 2024-2025 school year. The results were announced by the deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports Andrei Pavaloi at the end of the second stage of registration.

June 24: Fourteen of the 15 day camps have completed their activity program. The camp at “Ion and Doina Aldea Teodorovici” Theoretical High School, which is attended by 60 students, remains open. June 26: About 420,000 people in the municipality of Chisinau will receive notices to pay the sanitation tax for 2023. The municipality said the payment is to be made by each person by July 31. The Local Taxes and Fees Collection Division has already sent the payment notices through postal services.

June 26: The municipality risks being dispossessed of a 3ha plot of land in Râșcani district of the capital city, which is worth more than 100 million lei. The Chisinau City Hall said that actions are being taken to embezzle municipal property through fraudulent schemes.

June 27: A new type of road surface marking, dubbed the “red carpet”, is applied in the busiest intersections in Chisinau. According to the City Hall, these markings are applied on the road in front of pedestrian crossings. Red carpets are distinguished by their striking color, designed to attract the attention of drivers long before they reach the pedestrian crossing. These markings are made of a special material with an abrasive surface that helps reduce braking distance, giving drivers additional reaction time.

June 29: “Alunelul” Park of Chisinau will host the Romanian Children’s Animation Festival between June 30 and July 7. June 29: The municipality aims to create in Chisinau a sports complex that will enable to do various types of sports, from football to swimming and athletics, and to host championships. Also, the sports infrastructure of the 13 sports schools of Chisinau is being continuously rehabilitated, and the demand for sports education among children increases from year to year. The municipal allowances for sports activities and events in the past five years also increased, from 6 to 20 million lei.
