Ion Diacov, former prosecutor of Chisinau municipality, is the candidate of Our Party (Partidul Nostru) for the Mayor’s position at the general local elections on October 20, IPN reports.
Ion Diacov states that he is not a party member. He accepted to run on Our Party list because "running as an independent candidate is a very difficult issue and the concept is that you must have support in the council".
Ion Diacov says he wants the city to "stand on its own feet". He wants to save Chisinau "from the mire where it has been for the last 20 years". “I do not come to do politics, to tip the ideological balance in favour of one party or another. I come to work, to bring order,” he said.
Renato Usatîi, Chairman of Our Party, says that Ion Diacov is a man who "will be able to institute in Chisinau the dictatorship of the law". "Chisinau needs a doctor who will save the capital from the cancer, which has spread throughout all municipal structures and beyond," said Renato Usatîi.
Our Party will enter the race with the slogan: "Let’s Save Chisinau Together!"
