The leader of the Party of Development and Unity of Moldova (PDCM) Ion Chicu said the Republic of Moldova elected its Parliament and, regardless of the political preferences and diversity of views in society, everyone should want the new administration of the country to succeed, IPN reports.

According to him, those who voted for other parties should support the new power when this does good things for the country. Those who voted for the new power should punish it and criticize it when this acts incorrectly. “We must be a united society and keep a close eye on the power. In the name of my mates from from the Party of Development and Unity of Moldova, we congratulate the Party of Action and Solidary and the Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists on the results achieved in the parliamentary elections. I wish you success in the work you will do for the wellbeing of the Republic of Moldova,” Ion Chicu posted on Facebook.

He noted that PDCM will be an extraparliamentary opposition party that will suggest proposals and bills aimed at solving a number of problems faced by the people. The members of the party will be attentive to the deviations of MPs and will inform society about any action or the inaction that affects the interests of the people and the county.

The Party of Action and Solidary gained 52.80% of the ballot in the July 11 snap parliamentary elections. The Electoral Bloc of the Communists and the Socialists won 27.17% of the vote, while the Shor Party – 5.74%. No other parties passed the election threshold.

The Party of Development and Unity of Moldova led by ex-Premier Ion Chicu garnered 0.43% of the vote.
