Prime Minister Ion Chicu said he does not approve of familial communication between high-ranking officials and the media. According to him, the education and communication standards between the state institutions and the press declined the past few years, IPN reports.

“There should be official, classical communication at official level, with mutual respect and not only on the part of officials, but also of the press. During the past 15 years, these communication standards declined. The people do not address officially each other and behave in a familial way. I do not say that the press is to blame, but we must admit that the education level decreased regrettably,” Ion Chicu stated in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel.

Premier Chicu noted that he does not welcome the familial approach adopted by one of his advisers in relation to the editorial office of the paper “Ziarului de Gardă”, but noted that some of the representatives of the media should forget about the exclusiveness they created themselves and consider that the Prime Minister should come to their studios immediately after they make a call.

He warned the press that the current Government is not political and its representatives will not go there where they discuss politics and geopolitics.

According to the press, the Premier’s adviser on communication Vitalie Dragancea, in a discussion with the reporter of “Ziarului de Gardă”, said he is the one who chooses the media outlets to which Ion Chicu gives interviews. He also said that Ion Chicu goes only to the media outlets that they think “have an impact”. Throughout the discussion, Vitalie Dragancea had a very jovial behavior towards the reporter.
