“I voted for our state to develop, for the independence of the press so that it can ensure the transparency of all processes in our country,” presidential candidate Ion Chicu stated immediately after leaving the polling station.
He urged all citizens to go to the polls “to decide the fate of the country because what we will have during the next four years depends on us.”
Ion Chicu came to the polling station together with his wife and daughter. He is under No. 6 on the ballot and is running on behalf of the Party for Development and Consolidation of Moldova.
Citizens who are eligible to vote are expected to go the polls until 09:00 p.m.
