The PSRM candidate for the position of general mayor of Chisinau municipality, Ion Ceban, declares that he will not cut down the facilities granted to the vulnerable categories of the city dwellers but, on the contrary, will augment them. At the same time, he was categorically against raising public transport fares, IPN reports.

"I will not allow the increase in fares for public transport. People are already poor," Ion Ceban stated at a press conference. According to the candidate, all the existing compensations will be maintained: for heating during the cold season, for hot water and garbage disposal. Those who have a monthly income under three thousand lei per capita in the family benefit from heating compensations. "Today we cover 40% of the citizens’ bills for the cold season. I with my colleagues will increase this assistance up to 60% of the bills," says Ion Ceban.

The candidate mentions that, if he becomes mayor, he will plead for the monthly allocation of 100 lei for pensioners. He would also provide 25% extra support from the City Hall under the First House programs implemented by the Government.

In other news, Ion Ceban mentioned he could not ignore the accusations launched by Andrei Nastase regarding his involvement in the "real estate mafia". The Socialist candidate has signed a complaint addressed to the court, specifying that he will claim as compensation the cost of the car that Andrei Năstase purchased this year, for 41 thousand euros, and upon winning the case he will give the money to an auxiliary school.
