The National Alternative Movement’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban said that when the polls close, their priority will be to ensure the security of the vote of each inhabitant of the capital city, IPN reports.
In a news conference, Ion Ceban thanked the residents of the municipality of Chisinau. He said that the turnout of voters in the municipality of Chisinau was significant.
The candidate noted that besides the official registers of the Central Election Commission, there are additional rolls with about 12,000 voters who cast their ballots. Representatives of the Movement will become actively involved in the vote count and in the tabulation of the voting reports of each polling station. His team’s priority is to ensure the security of the vote of each inhabitant of the municipality of Chisinau. After the vote count, he will return before the journalists.
According to the CEC, over 1.147 million electors voted in the general local elections. This is 41.4% of the voting-eligible population. In the municipality of Chisinau, the turnout was of almost 267,000 persons or nearly 41%.
