Ion Caras is hopeful that the national football team of Moldova will be successful in the match against England, of the 2014 World Championship qualifiers. But he realizes the force of the opponent, IPN reports

“There will be emotions. The situation in the rankings is difficult, with four teams fighting for qualifications. We want to obtain a positive result. We must believe, even if we know that England is a very serious opponent,” Ion Caras said in a news conference on September 3.

For this game, Ion Caras summoned 23 players. The new footballers include goalkeeper Ilie Cebanu and fullbacks Iulian Erhan and Anatolie Boestean. Moldova played against England on the famous stadium Wembley only once, in 1997. Moldova, who was trained also by Ion Caras, was then beaten 4-0.

“Many things changed since then. We have experience behind. It is honorable and responsible to be able to put up resistance to England on this stadium. Many stars didn’t have the occasion to play on Wembley,” stated Ion Caras.

Final lineup:
Goalkeepers: Serghei Pashchenko (Malavan, Iran), Stanislav Namashko (Domzale, Slovenia), Ilie Cebanu (Tom Tomsk, Russia);
Fullbacks: Alexandru Epureanu (Anji, Russia), Vitalie Bordian, Simion Bulgaru (Volga, Russia), Igor Armas (Kuban, Russia), Victor Golovatenko (Sibir, Russia), Anatolie Boestean (FC Tiraspol), Iulian Erhan (Torpedo-Belaz, Belarus), Petru Racu (Veris Chisinau);
Halfbacks: Artur Ionita (Aarau, Switzerland), Alexandru Onica (Lokomotiv, Uzbekistan), Serghei Gheorghiev (FC Tiraspol), Gheorghe Andronic (Milsami Orhei), Alexandru Antoniuc (Veris Chisinau), Alexandru Suvorov (Mordovia Saransk, Russia), Eugen Cebotaru (Spartak Nalchik, Russia), Alexandru Pashchenko (Sheriff Tiraspol), Alexandru Dedov (Zimbru Chisinau);
