23-year-old halfback Ion Cărăruș will play in the second league of Romania. He parted company with Hernesand of Sweden and signed for Farul Constanța, IPN reports.
“Farul is a well-established team that dreams of returning to the first league. I want to make progress alongside it,” Ion Cărăruș stated for the team’s website. Farul ranks ninth after 20 stages played and keeps the chance of promotion.
A pupil of the school of Zimbru, Ion Cărăruș went to Portugal at the age of 16. In three years, he returned to Zimbru for which he made his debut in the National Division. In his career, he also played for Zaria and for Știința Miroslava of Romania. For the national U19 football team, he played seven matches in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA EURO.
