Japanese cinema and culture will be celebrated in Chisinau for four days, as part of the 2024 Japanese Film Festival. The films will be screened at Cineplex Loteanu Cinema during December 4-7, IPN reports.

From Wednesday to Friday, the films will be screened starting at 06:00 p.m. Access is free, within the available places.

The festival will kick off on December 4 with the thriller "AI Amok" “Be ready to face ethical dilemmas and discover the possible apocalyptic scenarios that await us," reads the invitation issued by the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Moldova and the Japan Foundation.

A deep drama about the bond between a father and his daughter will be screened on December 5. The film "Step" illustrates the struggle and triumph of everyday life and gives the viewer the opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices we make for our loved ones.

"Project Dreams – How to Build Mazinger Z's Hangar" - a story about passionate businessmen who turn dreams into reality through technology - will be screened on December 6. This inspirational odyssey highlights Japan's innovations and the entrepreneurial spirit that can change the world.

The last film of the festival will be screened on December 7, starting at 03:00 p.m. It is the animation "The Children of the Sea", which combines visual beauty with a fascinating story about the meaning and corners of life. It promises audiences a world full of marine mysteries and exciting discoveries.

The films will be subtitled in Romanian. During breaks, visitors to the festival are invited to enjoy the Japanese tradition through "Ikebana", floral arrangements offered by the "Ikenobo" Center of Japanese Culture and Art.
