The investigation into the stolen banking funds is conducted selectively and involves only the persons who refused to cooperate with the current power. Such an opinion was stated in the talk show “Politics of Natalia Morari” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.

Programs director of the Center for Policies and Reforms Ștefan Gligor made such a statement in connection with fresh reports about the payment of studies of Iurie Leancă’s youngest son by Ilan Șor when Leancă held the post of Premier. He noted that the case of ex-MP Kiril Luchinski is a pertinent example of selective investigation. “Look where Iurie Leancă is now after he accepted to cooperate with this power and the Democratic Party and where the people who refused to do this are,” stated Ștefan Gligor.

Analyst Corneliu Ciurea said the fact that the studies were financed hasn’t been yet proven. At the same time, Ilan Shor financed many politicians in the Republic of Moldova and the case related to Iurie Leancă could be true. “If we jail all the politicians who took money from Ilan Shor, we will remain without the political class. We will possibly remain without the opposition too,” he noted.

Several days ago, the press reported that Iurie Leancă’s youngest son studied in the UK on financing offered by the current mayor of Orhei Ilan Shor, who was convicted of embezzlement of banking funds by an ordinary court of law. Over £25,000 was reportedly provided for the studies. “Two transfers were made through the agency of a firm involved in the “theft of the US$ 1 billion” to an education institution based in Cambridge. The name of Leancă’s youngest son clearly appears in the operations of the company that was used by Shor to launder the money stolen from banks through loans,” says an investigation conducted by Jurnal TV.
