The teenager from Caracui village of Hâncești district, who is accused of a number of crimes, including murder, is in custody. The investigation opened in this case in February is close to an end and the case is to be sent to court.

Contacted by IPN for details, prosecutor in charge of this case Mihaela Butnariuc said the 17-year-old boy is held in Penitentiary No. 13 under a special regime for minors. He cooperated with the investigation body and admitted his guilt.

The teen was charged with murder, murder attempt and four burglaries. As he didn’t come of age, he faces at most 12 years and six months behind bars. A criminal case was started against him for theft earlier. This is still tried.

As to the second teen, who allegedly accompanied the first in the commission of the offenses in Caracui, Mihaela Butnariuc said this information is not true and the second boy wasn’t arrested and charged.

In the middle of February, the 17-year-old teen broke into a number of homes and maltreated the owners, asking money from them. Some of them suffered injuries and a man was killed. The boy was found behind a house, trying to hide. He was in an advanced state of inebriation. The money that he allegedly stole from the victims was found on him.
