Interim mayor of Chisinau could receive MDL 20 mln more from state budget for repairing roadways

Municipal authorities are worried of the lack of roadway specialists and of the lack of mechanisms for roadway repairing works, which are necessary in the process of reconstructing roadways, action planned by the state authorities starting next year.
Interim mayor of the municipality of Chisinau, Vasile Ursu declared at the beginning of this week that for compensating the deficit of specialists “those who are now abroad must come back home. He says that the wages offered at present by the specialized enterprises from Moldova are not much lower than the wages these specialists receive abroad, if taking into consideration the expenses for travel and the fact that they are staying far away from their families. “It is better that they come home, in order to develop together the country”, the mayor declares.
According to Ursu, municipal authorities must concern about preparing labor force. He solicited from City Hall’s responsible persons to organize this winter some courses for preparing roadway specialists, so that in spring they could be employed.
In this context, the interim mayor said that the municipality will perform ample repair works in the next year. In this respect, he told that an auction for the purchase of necessary equipment was announced.
Ursu declared that until the end of the year, local authorities could receive from the state budget another MDL 20 mln for roadway repair works. Previously, the City Hall received MDL 50 mln for repairing Pan Halippa Street and other MDL 70 mln – for repairing the streets located in the center of Chisinau.
