About 231 million lei, allocated by the state to its institutions in 2008, remained unused, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from finance minister Mariana Durlesteanu. The managers of these institutions did not even re-direct that money to other subordinated structures. On the other hand, the minister says, they dared to contract new commitments and now the amount of debts of institutions and companies financed by tax-payers reaches 488 million lei. “We work with our colleagues from the Court of Accounts (state auditor) to clarify the reasons. We’re confident the problem of the debts can be solved, especially when there are available resources,” Dulesteanu. Premier Zinaida Greceanai says the state-owned institutions need to have employees with deeper analytical minds, to implement elements of strategic planning more energetically. In the wake of recently endorsing the new cabinet and its governing program, the prime-minister has asked ministers and heads of governmental agencies to submit the draft laws in due time, their activity plans and sources of financing.
