On the eve of International NGO Day, a series of initiatives and studies aimed at supporting Moldovan civil society organizations in the long term were presented. At an event, experts offered recommendations for public authorities and international donors to further support the active role of CSOs in promoting change and reform.

"Civil society is the solid foundation of our democracy. Continued support to this sector is essential for our European future, and the Government continues to work with non-state actors to ensure their active involvement in the decision-making process," said Ana Calinici, State Secretary of the Government.

During the event, the CSO Compass was presented, which entails the civil society mapping, study and plan for civil society development, launched with the support of the European Union.

"We believe that only through the active involvement of the whole society, Republic of Moldova has significant chances to advance firmly and faster on the path of European integration," said Magdalena Mueller-Uri, Head of the Cooperation Section of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova.

The CSO Compass initiative was launched by People in Need in 2023 with funding from the European Union and People in Need.
