Informal Economy Dropped by 24 percent

The Government estimates that during the period 2000-2005 the share of the informal economy in the Gross Domestic Product diminished from 35% to 24%. The phenomenon is due to several measures implemented by the Government in collaboration with social partners, declared the deputy minister of Economy and Commerce, Sergiu Sainciuc, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. Among the actions that leaded to diminishing the share of informal economy, Sainciuc mentioned the re-examination of over one thousand normative documents, adopting a new legislation on labour and of a Law Wage, creating new work inspection institutions, introducing personalized evidence of tax payers, developing small and medium enterprises, creating a favourable investment environment, increasing direct foreign investments etc. Sergiu Sainciuc says the Government made sufficient efforts for diminishing the informal sector of the economy. In the future he considers necessary to consolidate the efforts of the Government, Syndicates and Patronates for obtaining better results. In this context, he qualified as appropriate adopting a series of measures for diminishing the fiscal burden for the enterprises that will allow legalizing a good part of their informal activities. At the same time the deputy minister also considers necessary to maintain and develop those actions that already brought results, inclusively improving the investment environment in order to impulse the foreign investments and to create new work places, continuous increase of the tariff salary for the first wage category from the real sector of the economy.
