Industrial production volume in Chisinau fell 22.7%

The preliminary socioeconomic results in the municipality of Chisinau for January-June this year show that the industrial production volume decreased by 22.7% compared with the corresponding period last year, to 4.699,6 billion lei in current prices, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the head of the General Economy and Reforms Division Mihaela Iacob, 75 companies maintained the production levels (100% and higher) in the given period. They make up 24.9% of the total number of companies included in the monthly statistical analysis. “The production activity was mainly determined by the activity of the companies working in the processing industry, which accounted for 66.2% of the January-June production volume,” Mihaela Iacob said. The public industrial companies accounted for 25.2% of the total production volume, the private companies – for 34.4%, the joint public - private companies – for 17.6%, while the foreign companies and companies with foreign participation – for 22.8%.
