Industrial enterprises have lower production volumes

In the first 8 months of 2006, industrial enterprises of all types, manufactured goods amounting to MDL 12.9 bln in current prices, which represents 94.3% of the indexes registered in the similar period of the last year. In August compared with august 2005, this index reached 101.1%.
According to the information provided by the National Bureau of Statistics, reduction of the industrial production’s volume was generated by the reduction enterprising producing: wine – by 48% (with a share of 10% in the structure of industrial production, caused the decrease of the total industrial production by 9.2%), distilled alcoholic beverages – by 28%, tobacco – by 12%, glass and glass-related products – by 7%, paper and cardboard – by 8%, cars and equipment – by 6% etc.
At the same time, some increases of the industrial volume of products, was registered, but it could not fully attenuate the decrease of production in the aforementioned fields. The following fields have registered volume increases of production: production of medical equipment and instruments (1.7-fold), carpets (by 26%); extractive industry (by 22%); metal products (by 20%), metallurgical industry (by 14%); footwear (by 12%); production and distribution of electric power (by 8%) and others.
The volume of the production of food industry enterprises and beverages has diminished by 19%. At the same time, the production increased at the enterprises working in the following fields: mineral water and coolers (by 23%); processing and conserving fruits and vegetables (by 16%); beer production (by 13%), production, processing and conserving meet and meet products (by 8%) etc.
