The number of subscribers and the incomes of providers of fixed and mobile Internet access services in the first half of this year continued to rise, show data of the ICT regulator ANRCETI, quoted by IPN.
The number of subscribers to dedicated mobile Internet access services (by modems and data cards) increased by over 16,600 (+6.4%) to 276,200, while the number of subscribers to fixed broadband Internet services – by 18,700 (+4%) to 486,000. The cumulative number of subscribers to the given services rose by 35,500 (+4.9%) to 762,200, while the sales of these services – by 93.5 million lei (+18.4%) to over 601.6 million lei.
The cumulative incomes of the three mobile network providers, coming from the sale of dedicated Internet access services, grew by 8.5% compared with the first half of this year, to 149.3 million lie. The sales of Orange Moldova rose by 1.1% to 54.9 million lei, of Moldcell – by 2% to 50.5 million lei, of Moldtelecom – by 33.7% to 38.6 million lei. The average monthly revenue per user fell by 20.6% to 89.1 lei.
According to the data presented by the 63 providers of fixed Internet access services, the total volume of sales increased by over 21.4% to about 491.3 million lei. Starnet Solutii and Moldtelecom reported the largest growths. In the middle of 2014, the market share of Moldtelecom by incomes was 63.1%, of Starnet Solutii – 19.9%, of Orange Moldova – 2.9%, while of the other providers - 14.1% together. The average monthly revenue per user decreased by over 9.7% to about 159.4 lei.
