In the parliamentary elections of 2018, the Party of Socialists (PSRM) will be a leader by the number of candidates who will enter Parliament on its ticket, while the Democratic Party (PDM) will win most of the votes in single-member constituencies, said invitees of the talk show “Politics” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.

Victor Juc, vice director of the Institute of Legal and Political Research of the Academy of Sciences, said the PDM would rank first by the number of seats won in single-member constituencies and would be followed by the PSRM, the Party “Action and Solidarity”, the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” and even parties that didn’t dream of passing the election threshold of 6%. “The vote in constituencies opens up possibilities for other parties,” stated Victor Juc.

According to journalist Galina Vasilieva, polls show that the PSRM will be a leader by party lists. If the second round of voting is not introduced, as it is speculated, the Democrats would hold the lead, but only together with the so-called independent candidates.

Sociologist Angela Kolatski said the PDM has a very good party membership basis and also a team of people who enjoy authority, but do not form part of the party. “That’s why the Democrats now have the biggest chances of winning in single-member constituencies,” she stated.
