The Ciocana branch of the Chisinau City Court ordered to sequestrate six apartments and four nonresidential areas in Moldova estimated at about 33 million lei that belong to the former leader of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc. The judges this way accepted only one of the six requests for sequestration made by prosecutors, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the other five requests by which the prosecutors asked to sequestrate villas in Switzerland, France and Romania, five cars and a boat registered in Switzerland and four cars registered in Moldova, to the value of €7.7 million, were rejected.

The assets were identified by the Assets Recovery Agency, which established that they are all registered in the names of other persons, but their effective beneficiary is the former leader of the PDM Vladimir Plahotniuc.

The prosecutors intend to challenge the court decision and to demand that all the movable and immovable asserts should be sequestrated.
