Incumbent President Igor Dodon, who will compete in the presidential runoff vote, will widely misuse the administrative resources he controls and will increase the number of Russian consultants who will make effort to secure his victory, considers MP of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Igor Munteanu.

“During the next few weeks, the misuse of administrative resources will be accelerated and the Russian consultants serving the Party of Socialists will step up their efforts. We cannot say exactly how many violations of the Electoral Code will be committed during the next days as the Transnistrian vote could be manipulative for the runoff. The administrative resources continue to be unbalanced. The Government serves the electoral interests of the President and we are very much bothered about the way in which those polling stations in the diaspora were planted,” IPN quoted Igor Munteanu as saying in the talk show “Expertise Hour” on Jurnal TV channel.

The MP noted that the PPPDA wants a President who would not be suspected of all kinds of horrors, collusion with forces that are hostile to the national interests and, evidently, with parties that live and work retrogressively and want to transform Moldova into a vassal dominated by Russian interests.

MP Mihai Popușoi, the representative of the candidate for President Maiei Sandu, who won the first round of voting, said the Party of Action and Solidarity will do its best to obtain a better result in the runoff.

“With the support of the people who are in the country and those form the diaspora, we should give the second battle so as to win and once and for all free this country from schemes of corruption and nepotism that are deep-rooted in the central administration and state-run companies,” stated Mihai Popușoi.

The PAS MP noted that the party in the immediate period will be making effort to bring together the votes given to the candidates who announced their support for Maia Sandu in the runoff vote.

Political analyst Igor Girgoriev said the election outcome will be examined thoroughly given the surprises it generated.

“I anticipated there will be surprises and we witnessed surprises indeed, including in the results of the electoral contenders and in the voter turnout. A surprise came from the diaspora, which did very well. As to the electoral competitors, a surprise is Renato Usatyi’s result. This result can be divided into three: the result of Igor Dodon, the result of Shor and the result of all those who voted against Igor Dodon,” stated Igor Grigorev.

In the November 1 elections, the PAS candidate Maia Sandu emerged victorious, being followed by incumbent President Igor Dodon and the Our Party’s leader Renato Usatyi.
