The Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) didn’t invite any of the representatives of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform“ (PPPDA) to discuss eventual participation in governance. The former vice president of PPPDA Igor Munteanu is skeptical that PAS will issue such an invitation to his party and to the other political players, IPN reports.

After a number of farmers sent a letter to President Maia Sandu by which they ask to consider naming Alexandru Slusari as minister of agriculture, representatives of PPPDA said no one of their party was invited by PAS to serve on the Cabinet.

“Neither I nor my mates received such proposals and I suspect that this will be useless. So much power invested in a party generates the feeling that this party can decide alone, unilaterally and that it does not have to negotiate with other political players, especially when these players remained outside the demarcation line,” Igor Munteanu stated in the talk show “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova channel.

According to him, the shortage of staff is a challenge for the new government as the PAS vice presidents announced a crackdown on the system.

“None of the parties has sufficient staff or persons with experience who can fill the institutional gap existing in the Republic of Moldova. I heard also the PAS heavyweights’ call to the diaspora – to return home. Not many will return as the salaries are not very attractive and there is political instability. Therefore, PAS will have to bank primarily on those from inside the country,” said Igor Munteanu.

In the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, PPPDA gained 1.45% of the vote. After the elections, the party’s president and vice presidents resigned and the new administration is to be elected at the Congress set for September 5.
