Igor Munteanu, who was elected MP on the lists of the electors bloc ACUM as the representative of civil society, stated that in Parliament he will form part of the group of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”. He made the announcement in the talk show “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel, IPN reports.
“I decided to form part of the group of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”. In the election campaign in the constituency where I ran and made considerable effort, I was helped by both of the teams, but the “chemistry” that occurred in the period made me take such a decision” stated Igor Munteanu.
According to him, the idea of unity and predictability of the future actions is the basic concept of the bloc. “By signing this agreement of cooperation between the two constituent parties, the political bloc ACUM can be sure that common work on a strategy will be done in the upcoming local elections, based on the criteria for selecting councilors and mayors, which means special responsibility toward the people with whom they worked in the parliamentary elections and toward the idea of political development, evolution of the two parties,” noted Igor Munteanu.
Political pundit Anatol Țăranu said the formation of two parliamentary groups by the bloc ACUM is something normal given the architecture of this bloc. “I would not speak about political divorce or dramatic split of the bloc ACUM. The bloc ACUM gained political capital in the recent election and it would be non-pragmatic to waste in vain this political capital,” he stated.
“There are particular advantages in this division into two groups, including from technical viewpoint. This attempt to underline trenchantly and conspicuously that it keeps the unity betrays somehow particular concerns that not everything is ok,” stated Anatol Țăranu.
On March 26, the MPs of the electoral bloc ACUM announced the constitution of the political bloc ACUM given that the electoral bloc ACUM stopped existing legally. The political bloc will be formed of two parliamentary groups: of the Party “Action and Solidarity” and of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” led by Maia Sandu and Andrei Năstase respectively. The groups will consist of members of the two parties and unaffiliated MPs elected on the lists of ACUM.
