The acting president of the Party of Action and Solidary (PAS) Igor Grosu admits that the Constitutional Court’s solution concerning the self-dissolution of Parliament can be applied only for the next legislative bodies, not yet for the current one. Even so, the MP is confident that snap parliamentary elections will take place this year, IPN reports.

“Regardless of the decision that will be taken by the Court, as I said, we will obey this decision and will go on so that during the available period of three months, we come to the point when Parliament will be dissolved and snap elections will be called,” Igor Grosu stated in the program “Fourth Power” on N4 TV channel.

According to him, if it’s possible to apply the CC’s solution to the current Parliament, it will be applied. If this solution necessitates more time and procedures, they will take this into account so that at least the next Parliaments could solve the similar problems swiftly.

“This year, given the two scenarios – the timeframe of 45 days during which the procedure for nominating a candidate for two times is launched and the timeframe of three months during which Parliament does not adopt any decision - snap parliamentary elections could take place at the end of May or the start of June,” stated the MP.

In another development, Igor Grosu said the leaders of the parliamentary groups and not only, including Igor Dodon, Andrei Năstase, Pavel Filip, Marina Tauber and Andrian Candu, are to meet to decide how to induce snap elections.
