The president of the ruling party Igor Grosu, Parliament Speaker, refuted rumors about the planned investing of a Cabinet led by current presidential adviser Dorin Recean. He said the Cabinet managed by Natalia Gavrilița enjoys full support from the Party of Action and Solidarity. He admitted that some of the current members of the Cabinet can be replaced, noting that some of the ministers cope with the multiple crises experienced by Moldova with difficulty, IPN reports.

The Speaker said the government team consists of upright professionals but some of them face difficulties in overcoming the pressure generated by the ongoing crises. The eventual Cabinet reshuffles will be political in character and will be made known when a final decision is taken.

“Any member of the Government should realize that the moment of replacement can come. This is the lesson I learned when I formed part of the Cabinet. Nothing lasts forever. The previous ministers and the current ones worked in extreme conditions. It is not easy to manage overlapping crises and to also try to do reforms. The pressure exerted on the Cabinet members is enormous. There are persons who can handle a crisis situation, who can pull themselves together. But there are also persons who act better in calm situations when there are no turbulences. We care about diligent people. We are not in the situation when we can replace persons as we like. We thank them and I’m sure that they will be able to find an activity to serve the interests of the Republic of Moldova. There is always place for the better. If a decision is taken, this will be political in character and it will be announced when time comes. We periodically assess the work done by the ministers, agency heads and, when a decision is taken, it is made known,” Igor Grosu stated in an interview with the public radio station.

The president of PAS refuted the rumors that ex-minister of the interior Dorin Recean will take over the Cabinet. Igor Grosu assured that Premier Natalia Gavrilița is fully supported by the parliamentary majority.

“We are a nation good at making forecasts and formulating scenarios. We have a Cabinet. There is Misses Gavrilița who works hard and fully enjoys our political support and we will further support her,” stated the Speaker.

Last week, Minister of Environment Iuliana Cantaragiu tendered her resignation. In several hours, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița said that more changes will occur in the Cabinet by the end of September so that the cold period starts with a renewed government team.
