On the last day of the election campaign, the PCRM’s candidate for mayor of Chisinau Igor Dodon gave a news conference, where he called on the people to vote for professionalism and solutions on June 19, not for chaos and demagogy, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to Igor Dodon, this election campaign was dirty and full of provocations, insinuations and mutual accusations. “I started the election campaign with a clean heart and end it with my head up. We managed to identify the most pressing problems confronting Chisinau and proposed solutions to them,” said the Communist Party’s candidate. Igor Dodon stressed that he took part in all the electoral debates to which he was invited. “Instead of centering on solution finding, these debates turned into hysteria on the part of some of the election runners. These discussions were dominated by ideological problems, the fight against phantoms and phobias about the name of different political parties. I’m strongly convinced that you did not expect such results from the televised election debates,” he said. The candidate urged the voters in the municipality of Chisinau to be near him on Sunday. “Only several hours remained for taking a final decision. I’m sure that most of you already decided who you will vote for on June 19. Do not believe the nonsense spread by my opponents at the end of the election campaign. This is a typical feature of the Liberal hysteria,” Igor Dodon said, addressing the voters. On June 19, the voters in the municipality of Chisinau will choose between the PCRM’s candidate for mayor Igor Dodon and the PL’s candidate Dorin Chirtoaca, who polled the largest number of votes in the first round on June 5.
