The relations between Moldova and Russia at presidential and regional levels are excellent, the interparliamentary relations started to be restored after the Moldovan-Russian friendship groups resumed work, but at governmental level there is complete blockage as the Government decided not to go to the Russian Federation as they fear someone or something there, President Igor Dodon stated in a conference held to mark one year of office on December 12, IPN reports.

The President said the positive dynamics in the relations between Moldova and Russia are witnessed amid unfounded provocations staged by the parliamentary alliance led by the Democratic Party and all the satellites working at governmental level. This is done inclusively by expelling Russian diplomats and by imposing bans on entry on journalists, people of culture, experts from different fields, etc.

According to Igor Dodon, the export of products and services of Moldovan companies to Russia was unblocked at the start of this year. Currently, about 200 national enterprises have access to the Russian market. As a result, there were created thousands of jobs in the country. The exports of different types of goods rose significantly in the first nine months of this year compared with the corresponding period last year.

A number of legal and institutional problems faced by Moldovans who work or live in Russia were solved. Approximately 120,000 persons benefitted from migration amnesty and work is now done to identify solutions to other migration-related problems.

Regional cooperation was extended, including by signing bilateral partnership agreements between regions of the Russian Federation and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia and Moldovan districts. Based on these partnerships, there were implemented multiple technical assistance, experience exchange and cultural projects.

“I managed to unblock the exports to Russia and obtained working conditions in Russia for hundreds of thousands of Moldovans. I launched an efficient negotiation process with the Transnistrian region and this started to produce results. If I hadn’t intervened personally at high level, the Russophobe policy pursued by the government would have had immeasurable consequences at economic and social levels,” stated Igor Dodon.

So far this year, Igor Dodon has had 14 meetings with Heads of State, six of which with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
