Incumbent President Igor Dodon said the law to transfer the SIS under the Parliament’s subordination and the law to abrogate the law that authorized the sale of the site of the former Republican Stadium to the U.S. were promulgated on December 4, the next day after they were adopted by Parliament. “The legislature can remit them for promulgation the same day or during the next 20 days. On December 4, I promulgated these laws. It is the President’s right,” Igor Dodon stated in a new edition of the online program “Igor Dodon. President Responds”, IPN reports.

As to the fact that the laws were suspended by the Constitutional Court, Igor Dodon said the Court has such a right. “What’s next? The Constitutional Court will have a meeting and will take a final decision as to what to do with these laws. It can block them if there are arguments, but I see no arguments and I know that Parliament and the MPs of the PSRM work to provide additional arguments to prove that everything is legal,” he stated.

The incumbent President considers the law that authorized the sale of the site of the former Republican Stadium to the U.S. was adopted with violations in 2018. “This lot should remain under state ownership and should be used in the interests of the citizens. The Socialist MPs challenged the law of 2018 that was signed by Candu after I was suspended from office,” stated Igor Dodon, noting he repeatedly offered the American partners to identify another lot.

As to the bill to restore the retirement age as it was in 2016 (57 for women and 62 for men), which was recently introduced into Parliament by the PSRM, Igor Dodon said the Socialists spoke about this proposal all the time. “If the law is adopted by Parliament and I have the possibility of signing it, I will sign it,” stated Igor Dodon.
