President Igor Dodon promulgated, as a matter of emergency, Law 113 of June 15, 2019 that cancels the mixed electoral system and restorse the proportional one, based on party lists.
Posting on Facebook, the President wrote that the Law also contains a series of provisions aimed at improving the proportional electoral system. The provisions improve the voting process for the diaspora, limit the amounts of campaing contributions, increase transparency of party funding and electoral campaigns and establish clear and transparent procedures for candidate list drafting.
Additionally, the Law prohibits campaigning during election day and voting with expired passports (containing IDNP) for the diaspora.
