President Igor Dodon said the Party of Socialists, as he, personally, has no interest in falsifying this autumn’s presidential elections and estimated that the PAS candidate for President Maia Sandu will lose these elections. “Who shouts about falsification? Those who understand that they will lose. The PAS understands that they will most probably lose the elections. I don’t want to make forecasts, but I think the difference between me and Maia Sandu will be of over 100,000 votes, depending on the voter turnout. The turnout will be probably lower than in 2016 because of the pandemic,” stated President Dodon, being quoted by IPN.

In a new edition of the program “President Responds”, referring to PAS MP Sergiu Litvinenco’s assertion that President Dodon and the Socialists get ready to rig the presidential elections by falsifying the applications to register beforehand for opening polling stations in Russia, Igor Dodon said the Socialists and he are not interested in falsifying the elections, but want polling places to be established both in the East and in the West.

“In the Russian Federation, there are more citizens of the Republic of Moldova than in all the EU member states taken together. We must enable everyone to vote, in the East and in the West. I think more polling stations should be established in the Russian Federation this year. There should be the same number of stations everywhere!”.

Earlier, PAS MP Sergiu Litvinenco said the Socialists and Igor Dodon prepare to rig the presidential elections by falsifying the applications to register beforehand for opening polling stations in Russia. On September 10, the MP was to file a complaint to the Prosecutor General’s Office and demand to examine the situation.
