“It’s time to take responsible decisions for the country and the citizens either by creating a legitimate parliamentary majority or by organizing snap parliamentary elections,” stated President Igor Dodon, who underlined that almost a month and a half has passed since the legislative elections and that he expects the leaders of the largest parliamentary parties to come to common constellations on April 2, IPN reports.
“I want to note that if need be, the President is ready to moderate the bilateral consultations of party leaders. In this connection, I consider the main task of the President is to create conditions for organizing direct negotiations between the leaders of the largest parliamentary parties,” President Dodon wrote on his Facebook page.
He said he is ready to approve the creation of a parliamentary majority formed of parliamentary groups, but without the use of blackmail, threats or with turncoats. “Or I would accept the dissolution of Parliament and the holding of snap elections,” wrote Igor Dodon.
After the discussions he had separately with the leaders of the Party of Socialists, the Democratic Party and the bloc ACUM on March 26, Igor Dodon reached the conclusion that none of these entities wants snap elections even if they are all ready for these and they are disposed to form either majority or minority governments.
