The decision not to put former Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc on the wanted, list taken by Interpol, is strange, said President Igor Dodon, who considers that this decision is in the interests of the U.S. as the Americans prepare Vlad Plahotniuc for the elections that will be held in Moldova, IPN reports.

In the program “President Responds,” he noted that if Vlad Plahotniuc had been not in the United States, but in a country where they say the regime is totalitarian, he would have been brought home long ago.

On July 24, the Prosecutor General’s Office informed that Interpol refused to include the ex-leader of the Democratic Party Vladimir Plahotniuc in the list of wanted persons and decided to remove the data about him from the organization’s database.

President Dodon also said that MP Ștefan Gațcan still benefits from state guard. He noted he does not know if the MP was beaten, as a number of MPs said, but Gațcan got into the Candu-Shor trap as he is inexperienced in politics. But the PSRM solved the problem and only gained from this situation.

On June 30, Ștefan Gațcan announced his decision to defect from the Socialist parliamentary group to the Pro Moldova group. In a day, the MP said he decided to remain part of the PSRM’s team and will vacate his seat of MP. During the next few days, following reports about his abduction, Ștefan Gațcan posted a video on his Facebook page, saying he is ok, but will be absent for a period as he needs rehabilitation. He left Moldova and this information was confirmed by the Romanian authorities. In about a week, Ștefan Gațcan and his family returned to Moldova. He withdrew his resignation and remained part of the PSRM.

In another development, Igor Dodon referred to the warrant for the arrest of the mayor of de Bălți Renato Usatyi issued in Russia. He said this problem is within the remit of the Prosecutor General’s Office and he will not intervene.
