Political analyst Igor Botan said he was negatively impressed by the agreement on the formation of the Political Alliance for the European Moldova, especially as regards the center for taking decisions within this coalition.

“This means that the weekly meeting of the party leaders will be a real center for taking decisions in the country, while the Government’s presidium that will be constituted by this accord will make sure that the decisions taken by the executive meet the decisions of the meeting of the alliance leaders and will vote by consensus only the decisions that correspond. Thus, the Prime Minister will become a puppet, a marionette that will be able to do nothing and will be blocked if he tries to fulfill his duties independently,” Igor Botan stated for IPN.

The analyst said he was surprised to find out that the decision about the person who will hold the post of Premier wasn’t taken by consensus. “How do you think why the Democratic Party says that it does not care who the Liberal Democratic Party will field for the post of Prime Minister? Because they know that the decisions will be taken elsewhere. If you formed part of the alliance, wouldn’t you want to know who would be proposed? It’s clear why – the decisions will be taken in another place. The Prime Minister will be able to do nothing if there is no consensus,” stated Igor Botan.

According to him, they planned carefully everything. “They choose the administration of Parliament with the help of the Communists and then want to remove Iurie Leanca with the help of Mihai Ghimpu and Vladimir Voronin so as to name the person they want. Society can only remain astounded at the vote they gave,” he said.

On January 23, the PLDM and PDM signed an agreement on the formation of the ruling alliance. Under the agreement, the post of Premier will be held by the PLDM. Iurie Leanca was fielded for premiership, but he does not yet have enough votes in Parliament to be appointed.
