Moldovan fullback Igor Armas missed the chance to win Russia’s Cup with his current team Kuban, which was beaten by Lokomotiv Moscow in the final 1-3. The normal period of the match played in Astrakhan ended by 1-1 and overtime was needed. Igor Armas played throughout the 120-minute game, IPN reports.

Kuban was leading after Ignatyev scored in the 28th minute, with Niasse drawing in the 73rd minute. In overtime, Boussoufa and Miranchuk scored for Lokomotiv. Thus, Lokomotiv won Russia’s Cup the sixth time, having by one trophy fewer than CSKA Moscow. In the next season, the team will play in the Europa League groups.

“I do not understand why the supporters are angry with me. I’m the first who helped Kuban qualify for the European Cups and now I’m the first who propelled it to the final of Russia’s Cup,” said Kuban coach Leonid Kuchuk, who won six titles with Sheriff in 2004-2009.
