If parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, four parties would enter the legislative body. A sociological poll conducted by the Association of Sociologists and Demographers of Moldova during June 20-27 shows that of the decided respondents, 48.7% would vote for the Party of Socialists, 26.9% for the Action and Solidarity Party, 7% for the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, while 6.1% for the Our Party. The Democratic Party would gain 3.9% of the vote, the Shor Party – 2.3%, the Party of Communists – 2.0%, while the Pro Moldova Party – 1.8%, IPN reports.
In the same poll, the respondents answered the open question: “Who would you vote for if direct elections for the post of President of the Republic of Moldova were held next Sunday?” 35.8% of those surveyed said they would vote for Igor Dodon, 19.6% for Maia Sandu, 5.5% for Andrei Năstase, 4.1% for Renato Usatyi, 1.9% for Pavel Filip, 1.5% for Ilan Shor, while 1.3% for Ion Chicu.
Some 21% of those interviewed could not choose a leader suitable for the supreme post of the state, while 6% said they would not take part in elections.
Of the decided respondents, 48.9% said they would vote for Igor Dodon, 26.8% for Maia Sandu, while 7.5% for Andrei Năstase.
The respondents were asked to state their opinion on President Igor Dodon’s intention to negotiate a new lending agreement with Russia. 37% of those polled said this is a very positive intention, 26% said it is positive, 17% said it is negative, while 12% said it is very negative.
Some 54% of those surveyed said the participation by Moldovan soldiers in the parade in Moscow on June 24, 2020 is positive or very positive, while 36% said this is negative or very negative.
The sociological survey covered a sample of 1,127 adult respondents from 387 localities of the Republic of Moldova, except for the Transnistrian region. The margin of sampling error is 3%.
