“Hungary was the driving force in the process of liberalizing the movement regime for the Balkans, and we commit to the the forerunners in promoting the EU visa liberalization for Moldova,” Hungarian prime-minister Ferenc Gyurcsany told a new conference Friday, Info- Prim Neo reports. The Hungarian premier Friday attended the Central European Initiative (CEI) summit of heads of governments in Chisinau. The official remarked that Moldova has made good progress in the process of European integration and it should be persistently followed. “There are opinions that it would not be so well that a country is EU member, that it is hard and problems might appear. I donot share these opinions. I am a EU citizen and consider that the things happening within the EU make the world a better place,” Gyurcsany said. He met his Moldovan counterpart Zinaida Grecianai. They underlined the need to speed up the bilateral ties and the trade which hit $100 million in the first 9 months. The areas of cooperation could be very wide, Zinaida Grecianai said, from agriculture to informational technologies. The companies will decide themselves what top invest in, as the governments should create favorable conditions for expanding their business. In this context, Ferenc Gyurcsany expressed the interest of the Hungarian telecommunications company for privatizing Moldova's national operator Moldtelecom. Gyurcsany expressed availability to sign bilateral agreements on economic cooperation and technical assistance. The single EU visa issuing center in Chisinau is hosted by the Hungarian embassy.
