Hungary to further support Moldova's European aspirations, Ambassador

Hungary will further support Moldova's European integration bid and advocate for clear European prospects for our country, stated the newly-installed Hungarian Ambassador to Moldova Matyas Szilagyi.
Speaking at a news conference on Wednesday, the Ambassador said his country is also a supporter of a timely signing of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU. As for the Free Trade Agreement with the EU, the Hungarian diplomat revealed that according to political analysis its signing could take place by the end of 2013.
“We consider Moldova a privileged partner, with a centuries-long friendship”, stated the Ambassador.
Matyas Szilagyi also reiterated Hungary's support for the reintegration of Transnistria through peaceful and democratic ways.
Further, the Ambassador revealed that a joint commission would be created to foster economic cooperation between Moldova and Hungary, promote development projects and create jobs.
Matyas Szilagyi was Hungary's Ambassador to Romania during 1991-1997 and Consul General to Cluj in 2008- 2011. He is fluent in Romanian and Russian.
Matyas Szilagyi replaces György Varga, who completed his mission in late June.
