The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia clarified the procedure for obtaining the temporary entry permit for foreigners, including Moldovans, amid the restrictions imposed in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic. The entry permit is issued by the operational staff led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, at the direct request of the accepting Russian executive authorities, not of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in the Russian Federation. The details were provided by the Embassy of Moldova, IPN reports.

“In the case of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who plan to enter Russia based on an invitation issued by a Russian company or partner institution, the Russian side prepares the whole set of documents (written invitation, copies of passports of citizens of the Republic of Moldova, period of participation in events, etc.) and submitted these to the federal/regional executive body of Russia, with the request of filing an application to the operational staff (fight against COVID-19) for this to issue a permit of entry into Russia,” says a post of the Embassy.

As regards the Moldovans who receive medical treatment in Russia, the Embassy said these will be registered by the Russian medical institution on a specialized portal of public services beforehand and later the invited person will receive a unique code through email, this code being the permit of entry into the Russian Federation.
