Higher education institutions organize from July 21 to 28 a repeated contest for supplementing the seats that were not filled by the admittance contest organized during July 1-15.
According to the web page of the Ministry of Education and Youth, the information about the specialties and the available number of seats for the repeated contest is displayed on the informative panels of the higher education institutions.
Admittance to the higher education institutions will be performed taking into consideration the marks for the school graduation exams, supplementary the mean average grade for 11 years of studies or 3 years of lyceum or general school and of the average grade for 4 specialty disciplines established by the institutions depending on their specialization.
The matriculation will be organized in 29 higher education institutions: universities, academies and institutes, including 16 state and 13 private institutions. The procedure of admittance is not very much different if compared with the last year. The only difference is that a single contest for the budgetary and contract seats is organized, as a result of which the candidates are matriculated on the base of average grades, this way being differentiated the budgetary from contract students.
At the same time the ceiling for the contract seats was set at 20040 places, for the first time the number of seats being limited by a Governmental decision.
On the whole, 7645 budgetary students will be matriculated in 2006.
The last year, from the total number of 30040 matriculated students, 78%, i.e. 23 400 students have been matriculated in the higher education institutions on contract basis.
The rules stipulate that 70% of the seats designated for graduates of lyceums will be given to students from rural localities and 30% - to urban localities. For the graduates of general schools the percentage will be of 90 and respectively 10%.
As well, for the 2006 admittance was decided to supplement with 270 places the settled share of the budgetary places in the universities of Moldova for the students of the Eastern raions of the country.
