About 30 settlements from different districts of the country were disconnected from the power supply as a result of the heavy rain accompanied by high winds. A number of houses were flooded, while a roof was destroyed by the wind, IPN reports.
According to the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, at 1pm 28 villages of eight districts weren’t supplied with electric power. Most of them are from the districts of Ialoveni, Cimislia, and Criuleni. Specialized teams are working on the spot to restore the supply of electricity.
The rescuers intervened to pump water out of five yards in Hancesti town and of the basement of an education institution from Mereni, Anenii Noi. The wind downed a tree on a road in Ungheni. A firefighting team travelled to the scene and removed the obstacle. The roof of an administrative building was damaged, with about 80 slates being taken away.
