A number of amendments to the Penal Code and the Penal Procedure Code approved this July take effect on November 7. The National Patrolling Inspectorate says the conventional unit will rise from 20 to 50 lei, while the legal blood alcohol levels for drivers will decrease, IPN reports.
Now, the minimum state of inebriation will be the blood alcohol level of 0.3 to 0.5 g/l, not 0.3 to 1.0 g/l, as until now. The concentration of alcohol vapors in the exhaled air of ‘0.15 to 0.5 mg/l’ is replaced by ‘0.15 to 0.3 mg/l’.
The advanced state of inebriation is the blood alcohol level of 0.5 g/l and more, not of 1.0 g/l and more, as until now. The concentration of alcohol vapors in the exhaled air of ‘0.5 mg/l and more’ is replaced by ‘0.3 mg/l and more’.
