A campaign to raise the awareness and inform the rural population of the importance and benefits of vaccination against COVID-19 with the slogan “Get a vaccine for life to return to normality” will be launched by the Ministry of Heath, Labor and Social Protection on August 4. The campaign activities start in Anenii Noi district, IPN reports.
Secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection Denis Cernelea told a news conference that the goal of the campaign is to get to each village, primarily the rural areas where the vaccination rate is lower.
Health specialists will go from home to home and will inform the people about the benefits of vaccination and about the existing risks.
During several months, mobile teams will travel by the “health bus” to 24 districts to increase the awareness of vaccination. Two informative videos centering on vaccination will be disseminated as part of the campaign.
The campaign is carried out as part of the World Bank-funded Moldova Emergency COVID-19 Response Project.
Over 1,051,000 vaccine doses have been administered in Moldova so far. More than 616,000 persons (over 18%) have been vaccinated with the first dose, while over 500,000 persons with the second dose.
