The health certificate required when applying to higher and technical professional education institutions is no longer necessary as of July 18. An order to this effect was signed by Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Ala Nemerenco and Minister of Education, Culture and Research Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei, IPN reports.

In a posting on Facebook, Ala Nemerenco wrote that form 086/e is now full of data about the state of health of young people and the elimination of the certificate is designed to ensure the observance of the right to confidentiality and protection of personal data. However, the specialties that require special physical conditions, such as the military, sports, police and firefighting ones, are an exception.

According to the minister, the elimination of the health certificate required on admission to studies will remove bureaucracy, long lines, waiting lists, understandings, envelopes, etc. “Under the Constitution, each student has the right to education, regardless of their state of health. And we are obliged to ensure this right without ant conditionality,” wrote Ala Nemerenco.

She added that the move will help reduce the burden on health facilities that, besides the flow of patients, have to cope with the large number of applicants for health certificates.
