President Vladimir Voronin received on Tuesday, August 29, from several head of states congratulations messages on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Moldova. President Jacques Chirac has congratulated the Republic of Moldova, mentioned that France and its European partners intend to contribute to the success of the RM – EU Action Plan and will grant all the needed support to solve the Transnistrian problem. In his congratulation message, Russian president Vladimir Putin expressed his belief that the traditional friendly relations between Russia and Moldova will evolve and will satisfy the interests of both countries. Pope Benedict the XVI mentioned in his message that he praises the Lord to aid Moldova’s efforts to create a society respectful to one’s ambitions to economic, social and moral prosperity. Congratulation messages have also been sent by the president of the Federal German Republic, Horst Köhler, Queen of Denmark Margrethe II, president of the Poeople’s Chinese Republic, Hu Jintao, president of Israel, Moshe Katsav, ruler of the Great Arabe Libian Popular Socialist Jamahiria, colonel Muammar Al-Cadhafi, president of the Republic of Belarus, Alexandr Lukasenko, Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic Korean Republic, Chim En Nam.
